Celine Dion has put her career on hold “for her health and family reasons,” a statement on the beloved singer’s Facebook page notes. Dion had an upcoming fall tour of Asia in the works, not to mention her longstanding Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, but that has all been paused indefinitely.

Dion and husband Rene Angelil, parents to three children, have been dealing with Angelil’s ailing health since he had surgery this past December to remove a cancerous tumor from his throat. “Celine has also been fighting an illness that has caused inflammation in her throat muscles, and has not been able to perform any of her scheduled shows in Las Vegas since her last show on July 29th,” the statement reads. “She has still not recovered from this condition.”

The singer herself offered the following message to her fans:

“I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband’s healing, and to do so, it’s important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children. I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support.”

Celine’s most recent album, Loved Me Back To Life, was released last November.
