Earl Sweatshirt Is Not Impressed By Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” Video: See His Tweets
Taylor Swift is the latest pop star to incur the wrath of Black Twitter for perpetuating stereotypes in her “Shake It Off” video. (The former country queen can call Miley Cyrus and Lily Allen for advice). She literally dances like no one is watching in the intentionally corny visual but the scene where she twerks has been labelled offensive by some commentators.
“Haven’t watched the taylor swift video and I don’t need to watch it to tell you that it’s inherently offensive and ultimately harmful,” tweeted Earl Sweatshirt last night (August 18). “Perpetuating black stereotypes to the same demographic of white girls who hide their prejudice by proclaiming their love of the culture.” See the Odd Future rapper’s full commentary after the jump.
