Troye Sivan Makes Impressive Top 5 Debut On Album Chart With ‘TRXYE’ EP

Aussie actor/singer/songwriter Troye Sivan has made a little go quite a long way with TRXYE. Today it was revealed that the five-song EP, which contains the 19-year-old’s breakout hit “Happy Little Pill,” landed at #5 in its first week on the Billboard 200. That chart position, plus the fact that TRXYE sold 30,000 copies out of the gate, is pretty astounding considering that it only went on sale last Friday (rather than the traditional music industry standard release day of Tuesday in the States). Nearly a week later, Sivan’s EP is still hanging out in the Top 10 on iTunes.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, the Guardians Of The Galaxy tie-in compilation Awesome Mix Vol. 1 hangs out in the top spot for a second consecutive week, while another soundtrack, Disney’s Frozen, slides all the way back up to #3 after being reduced in price on iTunes.
