In response to the ongoing chaos in Ferguson, Missouri, Georgia rapper T.I. has teamed up with singer-songwriter  Skylar Grey on a hard-hitting new number called “New National Anthem.”

Complete with a menacing beat and a powerhouse hook from the “I Need A Doctor” songstress, T.I. addresses the topics of racism, gun culture, and, well, the actual state of the union. The “No Mediocre” hip-hop kingpin has been very vocal on the subject as of late, posting a personal letter about the death of Michael Brown via Instagram on August 19.

“I know radio prolly ain’t gonna play this,” T.I states in the beginning of the song. “But chopper going off in the hood man like Afghanistan or the Gaza strip somewhere, man/Yeah, we hear it so much. we probably numb to it by now. After all, it’s the American way, right?
