Diplo, King Of Beats, reigns supreme on the cover of the latest issue of Billboard Magazine.

The fascinating cover story details exactly what you might or might not have already expected to hear about the producer/DJ’s insane lifestyle, from jet-setting all over the world to working with an enviable cast of superstar acts, from Usher to Chris Brown to the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna.

The “Express Yourself” talent, who spoke to Idolator recently and revealed that one of the Madge tracks is called “Bitch I’m Madonna,” talked to the publication in-depth about speaking to the pop icon for the first time (via text!), and revealed that he’d been working on “four or five songs” alongside Ariel Rechstaid for the new Madonna LP, which he described as “just like amazing smashes.”

“One is super weird. Late one night in the studio we got a little bit drunk and she improvised a little hook and we made a song out of it. I think it’s going to be a breakthrough if she can manage to get everything together and get it out properly,” he tells Billboard.

Madonna also picked out a MNEK-penned record from Diplo’s massive collection of tracks, which is currently being sorted out by the songwriters, MNEK and Rechtaid. “I need those verses. I want to wrap that up. That song is on like version 20. It went from a piano ballad to a ‘Turn Down for What’-style song, which I didn’t like. Now it’s somewhere in the middle, which is a more pop record,” he explained.
