Labrinth’s “Let It Be” Video: Watch The Singer-Songwriter Create His Upcoming Album

Gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated sophomore album, Labrinth — real name Timothy McKenzie — recently dropped his soulful number “Let It Be.” While it might not be a party-starter like his Tinie Tempah-assisted club banger “Earthquake,” the new single not only lets his sultry pipes shine through, but also shows a real maturation for the 25-year-old English crooner.

Now “Let It Be” has a video, and it’s a pretty dizzying one at that. Filmed in a single shot, the clip seemingly follows McKenzie’s process of making his second disc, from fighting with label execs and recording tunes in the studio to just jamming with his friends. What’s more, it all takes place in a rather eerie warehouse space.

The visual might also reflect his trepidation with this still-untitled new record as he further ventures away from writing purely pop jams.

“I had so much fun making all the music and then I was f*cking shit scared,” he told Digital Spy. “I basically made what I wanted to hear and basically made the album I wanted to make, but I don’t know how the world is going to view it.”

Well, Labrinth, it’s time to take some of your own advice…and just let it be. Because, despite your worries, we’re loving the new music anyway.
