If Mathew Knowles‘ relationship with Beyonce wasn’t strained already, it will be after she hears about his latest run-in with the media. The mastermind behind Destiny’s Child talked about his famous offspring during an interview with a Houston radio program this morning (August 27) and claimed that Solange‘s elevator brawl with Jay Z was staged to boost ticket sales for The Carters’ On The Run tour.

“There’s a tour going on,” the 63-year-old explained. “So you have to sometimes ignite that tour, it’s called a Jedi mind trick. The Jedi mind trick fools you a lot of time.” He wasn’t done there. “Everybody’s talking about it, ticket sales went up. Solange’s album sales went up 200 per cent.” Wow. What kind of dad publicly accuses his daughters of fraud? Amusingly, he claims to still be managing Destiny’s Child and says he speaks with Bey every Sunday. They are going to have an interesting conversation this week. Listen to the interview after the jump.

Mathew talks about the elevator incident at around the six minute mark of Part 1.
