Gwen Stefani Is Recording A Solo Album AND A No Doubt Album At The Same Time

Gwen Stefani is making a comeback — and in more ways than one.

It’s no surprise within the industry now (thanks for spilling the beans, Diplo!) that the No Doubt frontwoman has been hard at work recording a follow-up to her last solo outing, The Sweet Escape.

But apparently, the creativity is flowing so much in the studio, she’s knocking out a new No Doubt record too.

In an interview on the red carpet with MTV News during New York Fashion Week, the gorgeous pop icon confirmed that she was back in the studio with longtime collaborator Pharrell (they’ve done “Hollaback Girl” and “Wind It Up” together in the past, among others), and that they’d been working on both records. “At this point I’m thinking about both, I can do both…and it’s just an amazing time; so many opportunities,” she explained.

And, to make matters even more exciting, Pharrell is freaking out over what’s coming out in the studio right now: “When I tell you she’s killing it, it’s another level. Gwen is somewhere else. The last time I said this about Miley, everyone was like, ‘What? That’s Hannah Montana,’ and I’m like, ‘What? I’m trying to tell you’…all I know is what I feel and what I’m convicted by and I can tell you that Gwen is on something else right now.”
