Breach & Kelis Team Up For “The Key”: Listen To The Clubby Reworking Of ‘Food’ Track “Rumble”

DJ/producer Breach has been on a roll in his native country of the UK, after racking up two Top 10 hits in 2013 (“Jack” and “Everything You Never Had”). For his stab at a hat trick, the British musician has paired up with chameleon-like songbird Kelis for a remix of her Food track “Rumble.” Re-titled “The Key” for its official single release, Breach pulls Kelis away from the neo-soul sound she experimented with on her most recent album, and puts her right back on the dancefloor.

That’s not to say “The Key” sounds anything like Kelis’ underrated 2010 foray into French electronic music, Flesh Tone. Rather, Breach gives a somewhat retro house zing to “Rumble” with this one, and in the process underscores the fact that Kelis really is one of the most versatile artists in modern pop.
