Miriam Bryant’s New Single Is Really, Really Good: Listen To “Dragon”

Given the quality of voice and knack for writing catchy pop songs, you can’t help but think Miriam Bryant is a couple of lucky breaks away from cracking America like fellow Swede Tove Lo. The 23-year-old came close a couple of times — Zedd collaboration “Push Play” was, at one point, going to be the follow up to “Clarity” — but she might have more luck with new single “Dragon”.

The first taste of the rising diva’s sophomore LP is a heady dose of Scandinavian electro-pop with a chorus that soars despite the confusing lyrics. (“I’ll be your dragon tonight” sounds more like a threat than a declaration of love!) Not that it matters. “Dragon” showcases the full range of Miriam’s powerful pipes and the song gets stuck in your head regardless of the Game Of Thrones-evoking subject matter. Listen after the jump.
