Fergie’s “L.A. Love (La La)”: Listen To The Full Song

You’ve all waited eight entire years for a brand new Fergie album, and, well, here’s the first taste of it — her new single “L.A. Love (La La)”. The DJ Mustard-produced track finds the 39-year-old Black Eyed Peas diva surprisingly stuck in creative rut, spouting out a slew of hip-hop-lite cliches that, to be honest, we would have expected her to have left behind sometime around The E.N.D.

It’s not that we’re gagging for Fergie to fully come out of the gate this time around with a Ray Of Light-esque set of mature, thought-provoking pop tracks that reflect how much the singer may have possibly matured over the past decade. Still, a tiny smidgeon of growth (not to mention a less-dated vocal delivery) would be appreciated, please.

As for the childlike, sing-song “la la la la la” chorus, Naughty Boy and Sam Smith already beat you to the punch in 2013, Fergie Ferg — with a far catchier single.

Alright, Gwen Stefani — the ball’s now in your court.
