Seinabo Sey’s Acoustic Cover Of Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be” Is Absolutely Gorgeous: Idolator Premiere
After generating serious buzz with sublime singles “Younger” and “Hard Time”, Seinabo Sey is finally ready to take things to the next level with debut EP For Madeline (due October 21 in the U.S.). The Swedish soul siren is supporting the much-anticipated release by dropping new material — swoon/brood over the ominous “Pistols At Dawn” — as well as a surprise cover.
A number of artists have already taken a shot at Clean Bandit‘s unstoppable “Rather Be” but none have made it their own quite like Seinabo. Accompanied by only a piano, the 23-year-old turns the ’90s-influenced dance anthem into a smoky ballad that stabs your heart with each gorgeous, emotion-soaked note. We’re excited to premiere the tasteful black-and-white video after the jump.
