Well kids, we’ve made it through another eventful week in Pop music! Fergie released her comeback single “L.A. Love (La La),” while Lorde dropped the stunning Hunger Games track “Yellow Flicker Beat.” Maroon 5 released their controversial video for “Animals,” and we reviewed Tove Lo‘s stunning debut album Queen of the Clouds.
Nicki Minaj will host the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards, with herself, Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran performing at the show. We launched our Ibrawlator for September! Click here to vote for your favorite album from last month, with choices like BANKS‘ Goddess and Lights‘ Little Machines.
We also interviewed Katy Perry‘s newest label signee Ferras, “Secrets” songstress Mary Lambert and “Talk Dirty” hitmaker Ricky Reed! Lastly, Nick Jonas broke the internet with his super-hot photo shoot for Flaunt magazine. Whew!
As always, our readers had a lot to say! Head on below to read their commentary from this week.
:: Gerard supports Lorde on Lorde’s ‘Hunger Games: Mockingjay’ Soundtrack “Yellow Flicker Beat” Arrives: Listen: “Little Lorde is going to be HUGE, she is only just beginning to tap the immense reservoir of natural gifts that lies within her. I wish her every success.”
:: Goose was not here for Miley Cyrus on Miley Cyrus Whips Out Her Boobs On Instagram (Again): See The Pop Diva’s Sexy Bath Antics: “What a desperate and lonely loser.”
:: Gretchen Weiners came for our wigs on Chet Faker And Flume Posted A Shirtless Pic Together: This Is Basically Hipster Porn: “I don’t get Mike Wass’ obsession with shirtless pics. But more so I don’t understand why Idolator feels the need to post every time Miley Cyrus instagrams a topless selfie. The readers who want to see those photos are probably already subscribing to her feed, whereas the rest of us are here for music.”
:: There was also some subtle shade-throwing, courtesy of Koko Palma on Jessica Mauboy Teases Babyface-Produced Bop “Can I Get A Moment?”: Preview The Fierce Anthem: “Sounds like the song Christina Aguilera sang for the Cars soundtrack.”
:: Popstar-in-the-making SHEON gave us a shout-out on Youtube, making a response video dedicated to our own Mike Wass. In it, she explained the true meaning behind her future classic – “Second Base.”
:: Herstans were out at full force on SHEON’s “Second Base” Video Has Something To Offend Everyone: Watch Her Sexy Church Romp, including Jake B Nimble Rodriguez: “i sure hope SHEON responds to your article DIRECTLY to explain this video to u, so u can have a better understanding of it. I have encouraged her to do so and hope that if she does, u will link her response to ur VERY harsh critique…”
:: We agree with Mark on Nick Jonas Strips For ‘Flaunt’ Magazine: 7 Semi-Nude And Shirtless Pics Of The Pop Star In Underwear: “I am all for this equality.”
:: DavidSask said what we’re all thinking on Fergie Is Working With Will.i.am And Rae Sremmurd On Her New (Obviously Hip-Hop) Album: “When Fergie can’t do solo without Will I Don’t then something is wrong!!!”
:: And finally, Russ Noe was quite frank with his opinion on Fergie’s “L.A. Love (La La): Listen To The Full Song: “god awful.”
