Future Hit: Nick Gardner’s Electro-Pop Gem “Lose You” Is Coming In The Air Tonight

Maybe labeling Nick Gardner‘s “Lose You” a Future Hit is jumping the gun a bit, but that just underscores how much we dig this single. The song takes more than a few cues from Phil Collins‘ spaced-out 1981 pop classic “In The Air Tonight,” from the ghostly vocals to the chilly synths to the Collins-esque drum crash. And it’s got a killer chorus.

As for Gardner, he’s a handsome gent from the UK who, judging by a quick flick through his Facebook photos, started off by uploading his covers of well-known songs to YouTube, and then spent the better part of 2013 and 2014 recording an album for Universal in Los Angeles and posting pics of himself with the likes of Ne-Yo, Backstreet Boys, Adam Lambert and Sean Garrett while doing so. “Lose You” was released as a single recently on iTunes, ahead of Nick’s stint as opening act for Maroon 5 on the band’s upcoming European dates.

Give the song a listen below.
