Calvin Harris And John Newman’s “Blame” Gets A Touch Of Trap: Listen To BURNS’ Wild Remix

Calvin Harris scored another massive smash with John Newman-assisted floorfiller “Blame”. It topped the UK singles chart (his fifth number one single in that market) and is already top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 stateside. It’s as good a time as any to start rolling out the remixes, which include an off-kilter — in a good way — overhaul from BURNS.

Given his stranglehold on international house music, it’s kind of disconcerting to hear a trap-influenced interpretation of Calvin’s latest. BURNS plays around with the BPM and rearranges the track in a relatively familiar way but then there’s a huge drop and “Blame” takes some very unexpected twists. It took a couple of listens to fully process but it’s actually pretty great. Take a listen after the jump.
