Pharrell Previews “Gust Of Wind” Video With Daft Punk: Watch

Pharrell wanders through a forest in a preview of his “Gust of Wind” video. There, the hitmaker and Voice coach approaches an unusual sight: two boulders, shaped like the helmets of featured artists Daft Punk. Directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World), this new video looks to be an epic adventure.

Earlier this week Pharrell dropped his “It Girl” video, a trippy fifth generation video game-themed collaboration with the famed Japanese pop artist (and frequent Billionaire Boys Club guest designer) Takashi Murakami.

When Pharrell and Daft Punk first joined forces for the latter’s 2013 album Random Access Memories, though, they dressed in sequined blazers (“Get Lucky”) and performed at a space-themed discotheque (“Lose Yourself to Dance”), as if to honor featured guitarist Nile Rodgers. “Gust of Wind,” off Pharrell’s solo comeback G I R L, was just as much of a retrofuturistic throwback.
