Lorde Sings Her ‘South Park’ Parody Song For A Few Seconds: Watch
Another day, another instance of life imitating art — or something like that.
South Park is, of course, known for making fun of the rich and famous, and absolutely nobody is spared. Their most recent victim for playful teasing? “Yellow Flicker Beat” songstress Lorde, who has been the subject of two South Park episodes now.
The plot involves Stan’s dad Randy Marsh, who reveals that he is actually…Lorde. Throughout the episode, he works on writing a track called “Feeling Good On A Wednesday,” and when he plays the track back on his laptop, it’s the voice of…Sia singing back?! While Sia’s remained silent about it, that’s unmistakably the “Chandelier” singer’s powerful chops. (Not following along? You can watch the episode now.)
It’s all very hilarious and, even more amazingly, Lorde’s evidently seen it, because she just sang a half second of the track during an interview. Watch up top, and check out her tweets about the show below.
Real talk, though: This parody jam is actually an actual jam. Can someone release it as a single? Sia? Lorde? It’s kind of everything. Ya, ya, ya!
UPDATE: Our prayers have been answered! South Park has just released the full version of “Push (Feeling Good On A Wednesday).” Enjoy!
