Pink (You+Me), U2 & Jessie J All Land Top 10 Albums, But Florida Georgia Line Rules The Chart

It’s back-to-back-to-back country albums on top of the Billboard 200, as Florida Georgia Line debut at #1 with Anything Goes (197,000 sold) following chart-topping stints by Blake Shelton and Jason Aldean in recent weeks. Also, Bob Seger follows follows the trend of veteran acts making a big showing in the Top 10 lately (see: Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett and Stevie Nicks) by debuting at #3 with his 17th studio album Ride Out (59,000).

That leaves Pink and Dallas Green (aka You+Me) to go in at #4 with rose ave. (50,000), which, if you can wrap your head around it, is actually the third-best chart position ever for a Pink album. The only two that did better: 2008’s Funhouse (#2) and 2012’s The Truth About Love (#1).

Another head-scratcher: U2 still managed to sell 28,000 copies of their 13th album Songs Of Innocence in the first official week of availability in physical form, despite the fact that every single person with an iTunes account has had access to the album for free since early September. Of course, Billboard points out that only about 1,000 unites sold last week were in digital form; all other copies were either CD or vinyl.

Songs Of Innocence enters the chart this week at #9, leaving Jessie J‘s Sweet Talker to squeak in at #10 (25,000).
