Jim Carrey And Iggy Azalea Spoof Sia’s “Chandelier” Video On ‘SNL’: Watch

Maddie Ziegler made a big impression with her starring role in Sia‘s “Chandelier” video. The way that the pre-teen dancer (of Dance Moms) flitted through the clip’s dingy setting, in that flesh-toned leotard and platinum bob modeled after Sia’s own, has led to the most high-profile press cycle that the in-demand pop songwriter has experienced in her entire career. (See the reenactments on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Late Night with Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Dancing with the Stars for proof.)

Last night (October 25), Sia’s “Chandelier” video was spoofed by none other than Saturday Night Live. One skit, “Costume Party,” was essentially an elaborate excuse for guest host Jim Carrey, regular Kate McKinnon and, yes, musical guest Iggy Azalea dress up like Ziegler and recreate her routine. The skit didn’t have any other point, and its timing feels slightly off, though it’s tough to blame SNL for not wanting to leave “Chandelier” alone. After all, Ziegler just made it all look like so much fun.
