Watch Ed Sheeran Join Sam Smith On Stage For “Stay With Me”
Ed Sheeran expressed his affection for Sam Smith‘s hit ballad “Stay With Me” in early June, when he covered the song during a BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge performance. “It is my favorite song of the last year,” Sheeran told host Annie Mac, while explaining why he chose to cover Smith’s ballad. “I think it’s an instant classic. It’s gonna be around for a long time. [Sam Smith] is gonna be around for a long time, as well.”
Indeed, Smith is still hanging in there, and last night Sheeran joined him on stage at Manchester’s Albert Hall for a joint performance of “Stay With Me” that sent Sam’s audience into a frenzy.
