Steve Aoki Remixes David Guetta’s “Dangerous”: Listen

David Guetta surprised with his new single, “Dangerous.” It isn’t the EDM that has flooded the pop charts in recent years – see Guetta’s own 2011 breakthrough, Nothing But the Beat. Instead, “Dangerous” (also the opening track of his sixth album, Listen) takes on a midtempo, disco-funk groove inspired by vintage French-Dutch electronica.

Guetta is aware that “Dangerous” is a departure for him, so he enlisted a few DJs for remixes that he could play during his floor-filling sets. (The first was by Guetta himself. He called it the “Banging Remix,” because he can.) Next up is Steve Aoki, who just released his second studio album Neon Future I. As to be expected, the electro house producer brings “Dangerous” up to the speed Guetta likely had in mind, while swapping out the romantic strings for, well, a harder-hitting beat.
