All’s well that ends well, and Röyksopp is ending their album run with a bang.

After announcing the release of their final “traditional” album The Inevitable End months ago, the Norwegian electro-pop maestros slowly unveiled the release track by haunting track on their website, from “Sordid Affair” with Ryan James to their Jamie McDermott-assisted “You Know I Have To Go” to “Rong” and “Monument (The End Version)” with their constant collaborator and Queen Of Swede-Pop, Robyn.

The haunting collection unquestionably carries a sense of finality throughout the record, but doesn’t skimp on providing the duo’s signature lush and dreamy electro-soundscapes. “We feel like this is a goodbye to the traditional album format, In our consecutive run of albums, we have been able to say what we want to say and do what we want to do with the LP. We’re not going to stop making music, but the album format as such, this is the last thing from us,” the duo says of the record. It’s a somber, beautiful ride all the way through.

You can now stream The Inevitable End in full over at iTunes Radio.
