Nick Jonas has been grabbing our attention for several months now, ever since he dropped “Chains” and “Jealous,” a pair or impeccable pop singles from his upcoming self-titled album, and dropped his pants for Flaunt magazine. As for Demi Lovato, well — she might just be the coolest girl in pop.

So consider us more than excited that Nick has followed in older brother Joe Jonas‘ footsteps by pairing up with Demi for a duet. “Avalanche” finds the two taking the parts of lovers in an emotional freefall, detailing the aftermath of their breakup. Ballads and big-name collaborations can sometimes be a snooze, but this track a prime example of how you go about making a perfect duet. Take a listen after the jump!

Jonas and Lovato co-wrote “Avalanche” with Joe Kirkland and Jason Dean, members of Dallas pop-rock band Artist Vs. Poet. The song is off Nick’s album, set to be released next week (November 11).
