Shawn Mendes Returns To The iTunes Top 10 With New Single “Something Big”: Listen To The Upbeat Anthem

Shawn Mendes heralded the age of the social media superstar when his debut single “Life Of The Party” unexpectedly reached number one on iTunes and sold 200,000+ downloads in its first week of sale. Not bad for a teenager beter known for making six-second Vines. That success sparked a rush of releases from YouTube stars like Troye Sivan and Jack & Jack.

The Canadian dropped his second single “Something Big” today (November 7) and it’s already sitting pretty in the iTunes top 10. The uptempo pop anthem is a drastic change of pace from the piano balladry of “Life Of The Party”. It’s a testament to all the good things that have happened to Shawn since breaking big — complete with horns and a multitude of vocal hooks. It sounds like Justin Timberlake meets OneRepublic, which isn’t exactly a bad thing. Listen to his latest after the jump.
