Contemporary Christian songwriter Michael W. Smith released the first rendition of original worship song “All Is Well” in 1989, for his first Christmas album It’s Christmas. This past September, now 25 years later, Smith enlisted country superstars like Carrie Underwood for his fourth holiday album, The Spirit of Christmas.

So it was fitting that on November 7, the two of them performed their duet version of “All Is Well” for the three-hour taping of ABC’s CMA Country Christmas special. Based on the cheers that erupted every time (the clearly pregnant) Underwood hit a big note, the crowd at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena seemed to agree.

Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland is hosting the holiday special, which airs December 1 at 8 p.m. EST. Other featured performers include Alan Jackson, Steven Tyler, LeAnn Rimes, Brad Paisley, Idina Menzel, Little Big Town, Hunter Hayes and Lucy Hale.

For now, see the fan footage below of Smith and Underwood’s “All Is Well” performance below.
