Ne-Yo Says Rihanna’s Upcoming Eighth Album Is “Absolutely Incredible”
The release date of Rihanna‘s forthcoming eight studio LP is completely unknown and with the currently blasé state of pop, any information we can get about the Barbadian songstress’ project is welcome! Well, Ne-Yo has now gifted us with some knowledge. The singer/songwriter and frequent collaborator with Rihanna (“Hate That I Love You,” “Right Now,” “Russian Roulette,” “Take A Bow”) stopped by Capital XTRA over the weekend during his London stop, and reflected on the bad gal’s album.
He told the radio station, “The stuff I’ve heard is absolutely incredible. I can’t speak on what it sounds like because I’ll get in trouble. But I definitely feel like people are gonna enjoy it. Anybody that’s a Rihanna fan is gonna stay a Rihanna fan, and anybody that’s not might become a Rihanna fan … just gear up for it.”
Aside from tweeting a few photos from the studio and ominous song lyrics, Rihanna herself has kept mum on the project. But she recently reunited with songwriter Ester Dean (“Rude Boy,” “What’s My Name,” “Where Have You Been”) in the studio and tapped Charli XCX to pen songs for her. DJ Mustard also spoke about his work on the record, and the singer has reportedly rejected all the songs Calvin Harris sent her.
