Ne-Yo has gained attention this past year for working with Celine Dion and acting as an unofficial spokesman for Rihanna‘s eighth album. Just last week, he appeared alongside Pitbull on Jimmy Kimmel Live to perform the latter’s latest dance anthem, “Time of Our Lives.”

However, his efforts to promote his upcoming sixth album, Non-Fictionhave been overlooked. Lead singles “Money Can’t Buy” featuring Jeezy, and the Juicy J-assisted “She Knows” have stalled on the charts. As of late, for whatever reason, the straightforward R&B that Ne-Yo has in mind has become a tougher sell.

So, likely with all that in mind, he has decided to push Non-Fiction‘s release back. Originally set for November 11, the album will now be out on January 27 — which the singer announced during his recent Los Angeles concert. (Rap-Up points out a collaboration with ScHoolboy Q, titled “Run,” is also forthcoming.) Here’s to hoping that Non-Fiction will be worth the wait.
