John Lindahl And Boyz II Men’s “This Christmas”: Free Download

If you tuned in to the first season of the US version of The X Factor, then you’ll likely be familiar with John Lindahl, who competed on the show as part of the group inTENsity. It’s now three years later, and John has secured a label deal with Epic Records. He’s also paired up with R&B legends Boyz II Men for a jazzy take “This Christmas,” which Idolator is offering up today as a free download.

The original version of “This Christmas” was recorded by the late Donny Hathaway and released in 1970. Since then, a multitude of artists have gotten into the spirit by covering the upbeat holiday tune, including Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, Christina Aguilera and Pentatonix.

Here on this rendition, Orange County, California native John, 18, showcases the smooth vocals that landed him a spot on The X Factor three years ago. He’s backed up by the gents from Boyz II Men, who effortlessly provide a vocal wall of sound that helps carry “This Christmas” to its festive, soulful conclusion.
