T.I. Defends Iggy Azalea
T.I. jumped on Twitter to defend his protogee Iggy Azalea in her going beef with Azealia Banks.

Azealia Banks opened a can of worms when she gave an emotional interview to Hot 97 expressing outrage at cultural appropriation in music. The femcee pointed the finger at Iggy Azalea as one of the main perpetrators, which inspired the Australian diva to tweet a lengthy rebuttal. Their beef went viral when hackers’ collective Anonymous entered the fray and threatened to leak images from the “Fancy” hitmaker’s alleged sextape.

Q-Tip then tried to explain the history of hip-hop in I-G-G-Y’s mentions and T.I. took it upon himself to respond on behalf of his protege. The latest hip-hop heavyweight to come out in support of Britney Spearsupcoming collaborator is Will.i.am. The Black Eyed Peas mastermind jumped on Twitter and shared some words of encouragement. “Hiphop Is global now…it doesn’t matter if your white or black…thanks for contributing & spreading our culture positively,” he wrote.

“Iggy Azalea [it] saddens me that people are making a big deal about race in hiphop & not ethics…today’s ethics goes against our foundation,” he continued. “In 1980 a white girl from punk rock group @blondieOFFICIAL helped #hiphop expand beyond the hood with a song called #rapture.” He also posted a video of Blondie‘s classic hit. His final message? “At the end of the day who cares what people think…do what you love…stay #fancy…#congrats.” See the tweets after the jump.
