Vanessa Hudgens To Save Musical Theatre With Star-Turn In ‘Gigi’: See The Fabulous Promo Video
It’s time to start engraving Vanessa Hudgens‘ name on a Tony Award! The triple threat is returning to her musical theatre roots by starring in an upcoming production of Gigi at the Kennedy Center. The role was made famous by Audrey Hepburn in a much-loved 1958 film, but the High School Musical sweetheart does a good job of channelling the iconic actress in a camp/fabulous promo video. She twirls and blows kisses like a boss. Watch it up top.
Hopefully, Vanessa’s stint treading the boards will inspire a full-time return to music. Or at least a new album. The 26-year-old has been concentrating on acting (she was robbed of an Oscar for Spring Breakers) of late but the diva still dabbles in (electro-)pop with girl group YLA. She has a hugely underrated discography — Identified is one of the most slept-on Disney albums of all time — and could inject some real attitude into the currently-rather-dreary pop world.
