Florence + The Machine’s Third Album Is Almost Finished
Florence + the Machine is close to finishing its third album, according to fan site the Florence + the Machine Army. On January 3, the South London ensemble sent over a photo from a studio session, showing that a final mix was being mastered.
In the snapshot, someone is covering the album’s title with a Sharpie. Based on other recent activity, though, that may not be a secret for much longer. Over the past few weeks, Florence + the Machine have announced their first live dates of 2015 — namely, festivals in Norway, Finland, Sweden and Hungary.
Florence was last heard on the Jay Z-curated soundtrack for 2013’s The Great Gatsby, which also featured Lana Del Rey‘s “Young and Beautiful” and a cover of Amy Winehouse‘s “Black To Black” by Beyonce and Andre 3000. The last studio effort the band released, though, was 2011’s Ceremonials, where they expanded on the already-huge baroque pop sound established with Lungs‘ US crossover hit “Dog Days Are Over.”
