LeToya Luckett surprised fans by dropping a new song this morning (January 5). “I’m Ready” is the first taste of the former Destiny’s Child diva’s third LP Until Then and finds the 33-year-old in a distinctly romantic mood. A striking change of pace from Lady Love club-bangers like (the still amazing) “She Ain’t Got Shit On Me,” the slinky jam is a throwback to the subtle and atmospheric R&B of the ’90s.

“There’s something, something different about you,” LeToya croons over finger snaps and a bass-heavy beat. “To get to you my darling, there’s nothing I won’t do.” It’s not the most instant song the accomplished actress — she recently starred in VH1’s Drumline: A New Beat — has released, but it definitely leaves you wanting more. The R&B diva’s third album is due in Spring. Her self-titled debut reached number one on the Billboard 200 in 2006, while 2009’s Lady Love peaked at number 12. Listen to her latest track after the jump.
