The Best Selling Singles & Albums Of 2014
Billboard has announced the best-selling singles and albums of 2014. See if your fave made the cut.

In late December, Billboard announced the highest-selling singles and albums of 2014. Taylor Swift‘s 1989 pipped Disney’s Frozen soundtrack to the post as the year’s most popular LP, while Pharrell‘s unavoidable “Happy” was the most-downloaded track. The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) published equivalent statistics for the Oz market today (January 6) and those names are well-represented again.

Pharrell’s “Happy” was also the most downloaded song in Australia in 2014, followed by Meghan Trainor‘s “All About That Bass” and Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.” The rest of the top 20 is more eclectic with local acts featuring heavily. Sheppard‘s quadruple platinum-selling “Geronimo” lands at number four, while boy band/dance outfit Justice Crew ranks at number five with “Que Sera.” As far as albums go, Ed Sheeran‘s x was narrowly edged out 1989 for the number one spot. The top five is rounded out by Frozen, an INXS greatest hits compilation (!) and Coldplay‘s Ghost Stories. See the full ranking after the jump.
