Whatcha Say: Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey & Adam Lambert Got Our Readers Talking

Bianca Gracie | January 16, 2015 5:30 pm

Whew! We’re just halfway into the first month of the year, but it sure has been a musical whirlwind! It was pretty much the unofficial takeover week for Justin BieberMiley Cyrus and Madonna on Idolator. The Canadian crooner made plenty headlines over the past few days, thanks to a Calvin Klein photoshop scandal, an Instagram photo of him in the studio with Rick Rubin and an offer to act in a porn scene for a measly $2 million.

Cyrus gave us a lot to look at this week — maybe a little too much! Her nude, full frontal polaroids for the latest issue of magazine are not for the faint of heart, and neither is her NSFW masturbation proclamation on Instagram. As for our favorite Rebel Heart? She announced that she’ll be performing at the 2015 Grammys, and talks of her taking the stage at the BRITs were also buzzing. Aside from those three, pop diva Mariah Carey made a big announcement: she has a residency in Las Vegas’ Caesar’s Palace beginning in May!

And, as always, you guys had a ton to say about the biggest stories of this jam-packed week! Get into the best comments after the jump!

:: Jay served up some cold shade towards Jennifer Lopez on Golden Globe Awards 2015: Jennifer Lopez’s Boob-Baring Gown Was The Talk Of The Show (6 Photos): “Her cleavage at award shows, much like Jennifer herself, is tired and desperate.”

:: news johnny also put us Americans in our place on Future Hit: It’s Only A Matter Of Time Before AronChupa’s Global Novelty Smash “I’m An Albatraoz” Conquers America: “Too weird for the US????? You guys made Gangnam no.1 there, nothing will EVER be more weird than that. Not even this peace of pure shit.”

:: Angela Lyles defended Queen Xtina on Christina Aguilera’s New Sound Is “Caviar Ratchet” According To Producers Da Internz : “funny since I actually loved those albums especially Bionic. It was genius in my opinion. I think people are too stuck on hearing not myself tonight. If you really listen to them with Lotus being subjective they’re amazing. Back to Basics was relevant to the masses when it came out….In fact she was highly praised for that album I think it was nominated for grammys too. Bionic should have done way better than it did but people simply weren’t ready for it. I think it’s the Edgar Allen Poe of albums and the most underrated album ever and would have made on killer tour, but she was also going through a lot while promoting that album too. You may have not liked them I thought they were far from bad and boring. Either way quality of music isn’t determined by sales. If that were the case Justin Beiber and One direction are up there with MJ and The Beatles”

:: Mayra Pinon had a special request for Rixton on Rixton’s “Hotel Ceiling” Video: Trailer Premiere: “This song being performed along mariachis will be amazing, romantic, and it will bring the crowd to tears”

::Once again, Jay was all about that shade on Meghan Trainor’s ‘Title’: Review Revue: “I don’t see her whole throwback sound making it past another album. I already grew tired of it the moment I heard “Lips Are Movin” and realized it sounds almost identical to ‘All About That Bass.’ What would she do for album #2? Find another sound from a different decade?

:: Andy Diamond shared his thoughts on Mariah Carey‘s new venture on Mariah Carey Announces Las Vegas Residency On ‘The Ellen Degeneres Show’: Watch: “Personally, I think once you do Vegas your career has really hit the ground. Just look at Celine Dion, Bette Midler, Britney Spears, Cher – they all never had a huge hit or success after their Vegas show.”

:: But Jay came to the artists’ defense: “I think it’s too early to count Britney as one of those who didn’t have a hit or success after their Vegas shows. Unfortunately for everyone else in that list, it’s because the music industry has shifted and is skewed more to younger artists.”

:: drew was over Biebs on Justin Bieber Wants You To Know That His Bulge Wasn’t Photoshopped In That Calvin Klein Commercial: “Hah. This photo isn’t proving anything. He should do the porn movie. He could call it “Believe,” because he’s the only one thinking he’s the big man on campus.”

:: Lauriellen is a happy #Glambert on Adam Lambert Announces New Album For Early Summer, Executive Produced By Max Martin And Shellback: “All is right with the world.”

:: Lastly, alistaircrane wraps up this week’s comment recap with this gem on Miley Cyrus Promotes Masturbation With NSFW Instagram Photo Showing Her Hand Jammed Down Her Shorts: Enjoy Her Latest Sexy, Porn-Lite Pic: “Now I’m not a woman, but if I were, I imagine I’d undo that zipper if I were going to masturbate.”
