Sia Performs “Elastic Heart” And “Chandelier” On ‘Saturday Night Live’: Watch
Sia has remained curiously absent from her music videos and TV performances throughout her whole 1000 Forms Of Fear campaign, so the big question was, how ever would the Grammy nominee present her music during her Saturday Night Live appearance? A big clue came when the Australian singer was featured in a quick promo clip for this weekend’s SNL episode while wearing a black, fuzzy mask that covered the upper portion of her face.
Sia donned similar head/face gear for her performances of both “Elastic Heart” (watch above) and “Chandelier” (below) on the show. During the former, young Dance Moms star Maddie Ziegler reprised her role from the music video along with another dancer for more interpretive moves while Sia stood in the background, facing away from the audience while she sang.
For “Chandelier,” Sia wore a black suit and belted the tune out over beautiful, stripped-down instrumentation as a mime stood beside her and used sign language to convey all of the song’s lyrics. All in all, this was definitely a far more unusual and heartfelt musical showing on Saturday Night Live than we’ve grown accustomed to.
