Barbra Streisand (Still) Has Most Platinum Albums Of Any Female Recording Artist In History
Barbra Streisand is an icon. We know this. But she just became even more iconic this week.
Following the release of her #1 Grammy-nominated duets record Partners back in 2014, Babs has officially notched her 31st platinum record as of this week, further extending her run as the female artist with the most platinum albums in the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)’s history. She widens the lead even further from acts like Reba McEntire (19), Madonna (17) and Mariah Carey (13). This is, of course, just one more accomplishment added to her 53 gold, 14 multi-platinum and 10 #1 records. Phew!
This isn’t the only achievement she’s notched recently, either: She’s also the only artist to top the album charts for the past 6 consecutive decades. The true definition of a living legend!
