Justin Bieber Surprises Ellen For Her Birthday & She Asks Why He’s Doing The Comedy Central Roast: Watch
Daytime titan Ellen DeGeneres turned 57 on Monday (January 26), and past guests on her talk show have been helping her celebrate in person or, at very least, sending her video messages all week. Pop troublemaker Justin Bieber, whose very first US TV appearance ever was on Ellen many moons ago, went one step further by surprising the birthday girl with a visit. Bieber admitted on air that he was nervous about setting foot on a talk show stage for the first time in over a year: “I just get nervous in front of crowds when I’m not singing, because I’m naturally like a performer.”
Ellen then admitted that Justin’s manager, Scooter Braun, asked her to be a part of Bieber’s upcoming Comedy Central roast. “I’m like, no, I’m not gonna roast him — I don’t like being mean to people,” DeGeneres said.
So why even allow himself to be roasted in the first place? “I think it’s just cool to be able to laugh at yourself, you know,” Bieber said, before stating the obvious and adding, “I’ve done some things that might not have been the greatest… I just want to be able to laugh about it and kind of own up to some of the things.”
Let’s just hope Justin can keep the shenanigans under control before that special even airs. A month is plenty of time to get yourself into trouble, you know.
