Sam Smith Performs “Lay Me Down” On ‘Ellen’: Watch
With Ellen DeGeneres’ birthday week winding down, Sam Smith gave the talk show host a somber gift in the form of a “Lay Me Down” performance. The dapper Grammy nominee wore a jacket and was accompanied by a piano and an orchestra while he belted out his In The Lonely Hour ballad, a more subdued song choice considering his current hit singles in the US (“I’m Not The Only One”) and UK (“Like I Can”).
Last night Smith performed at Los Angeles venue The Forum, but not before he taped his Ellen appearance and snapped the below pic with DeGeneres and fellow guests Kanye West and Justin Bieber.
