T.I. Speaks Out About Iggy Azalea’s Twitter Rants: “I Think She Should Focus On…Music”
Iggy Azalea has had her fair share of critics in recent months, ranging from Azealia Banks‘ emotional interview about cultural appropriation to recent comments made by Eve and Jill Scott. And in response, the Australian rapper has chosen to respond to nearly every one of them on Twitter. (And then there was the Steve Madden photo shoot rant.)
But is it necessary? According to her mentor T.I.: “Absolutely not.” The rapper was asked about Iggy’s frequent Twitter rants against critics by a TMZ photographer, and he didn’t hold back with his honest opinion. “I think she should focus on what got her here — and that’s her music, her performing, and continue to present her talents to the world,” he explained.
Criticism and backlash is a natural part of any pop act’s success following a surge in popularity, although everyone has a different way of dealing with their detractors. Should Iggy back off and focus on music rather than tweeting in response to every critique, or is she in the right for challenging those who disagree with her?
