Rihanna‘s stripped down, ’90’s inspired look for the cover of i-D had us positively swooning days ago, and now, the bad gal’s opened up ever so slightly about what makes Rih Rih — including her number one musical inspiration.

In a Q&A with the publication, Rihanna rih-veals how certain artists and songs have worked into her life. For instance, did you know that Mariah Carey‘s “Vision Of Love” is what made her want to do music? Or that she works out to Linkin Park? And that she wishes she wrote Michael Bolton‘s “Said I Loved You But I Lied”?

Hardcore Navy fans might not be too surprised by most of the “FourFiveSeconds” singer’s answers in the mini-interview. After all, she’s been very vocal about her love for Mr. Bolton — even meeting up with him for a potential musical collaboration down the line.

And as for Mariah? That Elusive Chanteuse admiration goes way, way back…
