Sam Smith Reflects On His Big Grammys Night On ‘The Ellen Degeneres Show’: Watch
The 57th annual Grammys were all about Sam Smith, as he took home four awards that night — including Record of the Year for the ubiquitous “Stay With Me.” The singer stopped by The Ellen Degeneres Show today (February 10) after the ceremony to talk about his major wins!
The UK crooner revealed that he didn’t celebrate the night by going to any celebrity parties. Instead, he flew out his family to his label’s house on the hills and enjoyed some In N’ Out burgers — yummy!
As for his four “heavy” Grammy awards? “It’s unreal,” he told the host. “I genuinely didn’t think this was going to happen. I keep spontaneously crying! I was crying in the shower this morning like, ‘Oh my god!'” He also discusses the infamous man who broke his heart, the one who inspired “Stay With Me” and other tunes on In The Lonely Hour.
Along with soaking in his wins, Smith is also promoting his new single — “Lay Me Down.” He has since received five iHeartRadio Music Awards nominations, which will air live from Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium on March 29 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
