Florence + The Machine's "What Kind Of Man"
Florence + The Machine unveil their new single "What Kind Of Man." Listen to the anthem.

After teasing their third LP (due June 2) with mostly instrumental title track “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful” a couple of days ago, Florence + The Machine premiered the set’s official lead single “What Kind Of Man” earlier today (February 12). It’s something a throwback to the angry-yet-ethereal alt-pop/rock of debut album Lungs — complete with biting lyrics about a doomed relationship and an anthemic/radio-friendly chorus.

The band now drops the accompanying visual and it’s a surprisingly confronting experience. Directed by Vince Haycock, the clip begins with Florence having a seemingly innocuous conversation with her boyfriend before fate intervenes and things get hellish. The Brit delivers a particularly brave performance — stripping naked for sex scenes and taking part in gritty group choreography courtesy of Ryan Heffington. It plays like a Lars Von Trier mini-movie with an accessible soundtrack. Watch up top.
