SNL 40: Justin Timberlake & Jimmy Fallon Open The Show
Instead of "The History of Rap," the two besties did "The History of 'SNL'."

Saturday Night Live‘s 40th-anniversary special was made epic with cameos by Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Kanye West and more. Once that episode ended, though, SNL‘s cast, crew and featured guests threw an after-party with performances that we wish were televised.

Swift performed alongside Paul McCartney and SNL alumni Dan Aykroyd and Jimmy Fallon, twice. They played the Beatles“I Saw Her Standing There,” the 1963 McCartney-John Lennon collaboration that took cues from rock ‘n’ roll stars Chuck Berry and Little Richard, and Swift’s own “Shake It Off,” where Fallon played hypeman and had the crowd clapping to her sick beat.

Meanwhile, Prince was joined by Fallon, Bill Murray, Martin Short, Chris RockMaya Rudolph and HAIM when he did “Let’s Go Crazy” — and, based on other reports from SNL 40, the party-goers did exactly that. Watch clips from the star-studded evening below.
