Nate Ruess Goes Solo On “Nothing Without Love”: Watch The Fun. Vocalist’s Preview Video
Fun. recently announced that they were taking a break to pursue individual projects. The new wasn’t exactly surprising given the success of Jack Antonoff‘s side-project Bleachers and Nate Ruess‘ chart-topping feature on Pink‘s “Just Give Me A Reason.” The 32-year-old officially launches his solo career today (February 18) by teasing new single “Nothing Without Love.”
From the 30-second video, which finds the singer/songwriter barely keeping his head above water (love a good metaphor), “Nothing Without Love” sounds like a stripped-back, acoustic ballad. Nate knows how to write a compelling lyric — listen to any song on Fun.’s Grammy-winning Some Nights LP — and the promising snippet packs a hefty emotional punch. The single drops in full on February 23, with an album to follow later in the year. Watch the preview up top.
