Ella Henderson: Idolator Interview
We talked to the "Ghost" hit-maker about her debut album.

Here in the States, Ella Henderson‘s “Ghost” is proving to be the Little Hit That Could.

The song first topped the chart in the onetime X Factor contestant’s home country of the UK last June. It’s success prompted a US release, and buoyed Henderson’s debut album Chapter One to the #1 position in England.

Ella’s been belting out “Ghost” left and right since the fall, during a slew of television appearances — an effort that’s paid off with the single being certified Platinum this week, even though it’s only peaked at #22 so far on the Billboard Hot 100.

“We grabbed a drink, we had some food, and the next thing you know we were sat around a piano writing this chorus called ‘Ghost’,” Ella told Idolator recently about writing her hit with Ryan Tedder. “Instantly I knew this was going to be my first single. I felt something huge about it.”

Last night Henderson kept the slow but steady momentum going by singing “Ghost” on the Tonight Show with a little help from Jimmy Fallon‘s backup band, The Roots. Watch above.
