What’s the story, morning glory?

Following the stateside flash and glitz of the Grammy Awards earlier this month, we now turn our awards-season attention across the pond to the UK, where the 2015 BRIT Awards are being staged tonight at London’s O2 Arena. And while waiting for the ceremony to get underway and all the awards to be handed out, we decided to look back at the past two decades of BRITs winners.

Surveying the various victors in all the categories gives quite a nice idea of who the major players have been in British pop sine 1995. And if there’s one thing that’s certain, it’s that Robbie Williams might as well be named The King Of The BRITs — after all, he’s won 17 total, more than any other artist in the history of the awards.

Flip through our gallery of various winners going back to 1995 above to get an idea of who Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran‘s chart-dominating predecessors were!
