Missy Elliott Tweets Pic With Pharrell From The Studio, Adds Fuel To The Comeback Fire

Thank God that frenzy-inducing Super Bowl cameo wasn’t just a one-off thing. We now have photographic proof that Missy Elliott, an iconic voice that is sorely missed in the mainstream these days, is indeed on the comeback trail!

The supa dupa diva tweeted a photo with her pal Pharrell from the studio last night. “VA! 2 up 2 down! Me & my fam @Pharrell hard at work,” Missy, who’s of course from Virginia, noted of her pic with Pharrell (who hails from Virginia Beach).

This July will mark 10 years since the release of Missy’s last studio LP, The Cookbook — an album that produced the Ciara-featuring Top 10 smash “Lose Control.” Following Elliott’s cameo during Katy Perry’s Super Bowl halftime show performance earlier this month, “Lose Control,” along with early ’00s singles “Work It” and “Get Ur Freak On,” flew up the iTunes sales chart.

That warm reception seems to have reinvigorated the hip hop legend, as Missy has been cutting new tracks with Timbaland, as well. She can also be heard on a remix of Jack Ü’s single “Take Ü There,” which dropped, along with the rest of Diplo and Skrillex‘s album, overnight.
