For the first time ever, Australia will be participating at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

And after weeks of wondering who might be selected as the first-ever representative for the Aussies, the decision has been made: Guy Sebastian will be heading to the event in Vienna.

The “Linger” Australian Idol singer, who recently dropped his eighth Top 10 studio album Madness back in November, was confirmed by SBS.

According to the news broadcaster, Australia’s placement as a wild-card entry in the Grand Final means that Guy will be performing to a viewing audience of approximately 200 million at Wiener Stadthalle Stadium in May. But which song will he be singing?

“The song that we end up choosing will definitely be something that I want to move people with. Whatever I do I want to make it cut through. So if I do a big up-temp (song) I want it to be super fun, or if I do a ballad I want to try to make people cry,” he told SBS.
