Happy Friday, Idolator readers! You ready for the weekend? Before you turn up, let’s take a quick look back at this week in pop.

It was all Piece By Piece everything this week, as Kelly Clarkson released her highly anticipated sixth studio album. And from performances on Good Morning America to an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, she kept that promo steadily coming.

Plus, the return of Carly Rae Jepsen! The cute Canadian singer-songwriter delivered her comeback song “I Really Like You,” and we even got a chance to chat with her about her music. (Check it out!)

And that’s not all! The week also saw promo performances from Madonna across the pond,  and we’ve been getting ready for the release of Rebel Heart by listening to our #UnapologeticMadonna playlist, rounding up some Rebel Hearts influenced by Madonna and taking a look back at her best, most glamorous tour looks.

As always, you guys had plenty to say. Read some of the week’s best and worst comments below.

:: 池娅泓 was head over heels for the production on Carly Rae Jepsen’s “I Really Like You”: Listen To Her Comeback Single And Prepare To Transcend, Pop Lovers: “These pop composers are incredible. How does one make a chorus that catchy?? Love the bridge too — a nice touch to keep the song from being too personality-less.”

:: CA_dreamin couldn’t get past Carly’s age on Carly Rae Jepsen Performs “I Really Like You” Live On ‘Good Morning America’: Watch: “Listening to the song you almost forget she’s nearing 30. It would be fitting for Selena Gomez but you think this girl would go for a more grown up sound! Then again….. The recipe worked with ‘Call Me Maybe’, so I guess if it ain’t broke don’t change it?”

:: Lee Yasir disagreed: “were we watching the same thing? I actually think this song is WAY more mature compared to ‘Call Me Maybe’, and her new look matches. That performance was amazing as well, and i’m not even a fan of hers.”

:: Hannah puts it best when it comes to our round-up of pop stars inspired by Madonna on Pop Divas Inspired By Madonna: 10 Rebel Hearts Who Have Praised The Queen Of Pop: “Who hasn’t been influenced by Madonna??”

:: DavidSask was displeased with Kelly this era on Kelly Clarkson Performs “Heartbeat Song” And “Since U Been Gone” On ‘Good Morning America’: Watch: “Love Kelly, but this era is a fail and I think that will show in receipts very soon! The hair style you may think is edgy but is not good look, sorry! Hope next release wins me back!”

A.C. Nome had no time for Katie Hopkins’ Kelly shade on Kelly Clarkson Responds To Katie Hopkins Calling Her Fat: “Who?”: “This woman needs to be held accountable for abusive fat shaming rants. It’s not funny, it’s not honest, it’s not cute. It’s abuse. Yes, KC’s response was perfect.”

:: Troy found something to love in Piece By Piece on Kelly Clarkson’s “Good Goes The Bye,” “Someone” & “Dance With Me”: Listen To The ‘Piece By Piece’ Tracks: “‘Good Goes the Bye’ is one of the best songs ever. It saves this album from mediocre.”

:: Happy1ga wasn’t having Hilary’s Cosmo shoot on Hilary Duff Looks Gorgeous In April 2015 Issue Of ‘Cosmopolitan’ (PHOTOS): “Nooooo! That pic is terrible, it’s like they’ve turned her into a robot called the Duffbot 3000. Why turn a pretty lady into a thing that looks like it might malfunction and eat a Siamese?”

:: Baltazar couldn’t contain his joy for new Kylie on Kylie Minogue, Giorgio Moroder & Fernando Garibay Debuted A New Song In West Hollywood: Watch Snippets: “This is so good, just beyond everything that’s out there right now. Love it!”

:: Carter was blown away by Madge’s Le Grand Journal performance — including the interview — on Madonna Performs “Living For Love” And “Ghosttown” On ‘Le Grand Journal’: “It was a great interview. Say what you will about her talent as a singer or a dancer, but her intelligence is the foremost reason she is still around after 33 years. Loved both performances, too. That little march at the end of LFL and then those eyes, killed me. Also seeing Ghosttown performed for the first time made me realize what an emotional song that’s going to be. Bravo Madonna.”

:: And Thomas weighed in on his homeland’s interesting relationship with the singer: “As a French, it’s really funny to see the love/hate relationship the French Madonna fans have for her. They are always criticizing everything she does between themselves, yet they still buy her albums, sell out her shows and defend her in the medias.”

:: And finally, Pablo offered some shade on Major Lazer & DJ Snake Drop Their “Lean On” Collaboration Featuring MØ: Listen: “And it’s perfect for her, cause she’ll never have to sing it live.”
