'Neon Nights' Turns 10: Backtracking
We look back at Dannii's classic 2003 album, and interview some of her collaborators.

While we were all finally thawing out from the last throes of winter here in the States, Australia was having an aural meltdown thanks to Dannii Minogue’s flawless performance in pink sequins and feathers at Sydney’s Gay And Lesbian Mardis Gras fest. Kylie’s little sister tore through a medley of past hits that included “Put The Needle On It,” “Baby Love,” “Love And Kisses” and “This Is It” (the latter of which was mashed up with Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne’s current hit “Real Love”).

At one point, during an instrumental breakdown in the midst of this iconic $econd Coming Of Her Minogueship, Dannii paused to down a memosa handed to her by one of her small army of backup dancers.

The Commonwealth may truly never recover from this historic moment.

And, yes — Kylie was there to cheer on her sister, as was Dannii’s longtime producer Ian Masterson! Are we finally sensing a follow-up to 2003 album Neon Nights?
